Cookies and Google Analytics

We use Google Analytics to understand how the website is used, for example which pages are read and how people reach us. It runs only if you press Accept in the notice that appears on your first visit. Until then nothing from Google is loaded. If you accept, Google Analytics sets two cookies, _ga and _ga_ followed by an ID, which by default last up to two years. We do not use advertising or marketing cookies, and Google signals and advertising features are switched off.

We also count which buttons and links are used on our own server, without cookies and without identifying you. Pressing Reject turns this counting off as well. Your choice is saved in your own browser (local storage), and you can change it at any time with Privacy settings at the foot of every page. If you withdraw consent, you can also delete the cookies in your browser settings.

Cookies are otherwise used only when a member of our team signs in to manage the site. The lawful basis for analytics is your consent.

Who we share it with

We do not sell your data or share it for marketing. It is processed by the providers that host this website and our email on our behalf, under contracts that require them to keep it secure. We may share it if the law requires us to. If you accept analytics cookies, Google LLC processes the analytics data for us and may do so in the United States; Google takes part in the UK Extension to the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, which the UK recognises as providing adequate protection. Otherwise we do not intend to transfer your data outside the UK; if that ever becomes necessary, we will use the safeguards the law requires.

Marketing

We will not add you to a mailing list because you contacted us. If we send you business news in future, every email will say who it is from and give you a simple way to stop receiving them.

Your rights

You can ask us for a copy of your data, and ask us to correct it, delete it, restrict how we use it, or give it to you in a portable format. You can object to our use of it based on legitimate interests. We reply within one month. There is no charge in most cases.

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data, please tell us first. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint or on 0303 123 1113.

Keeping it safe

The website uses an encrypted connection (HTTPS). Access to enquiries is limited to the people who need it to reply to you. Please do not send passwords or personal data about your own customers through the form or by email.

Changes

We will update this notice when how we use data changes, and show the date at the top.
